Common Faults Of Twin-screw Extruders

Problems will inevitably occur with the twin-screw extruder during use. Do you know what the common problems are? The machine head pressure is unstable, the main motor cannot start, the main engine current is unstable and the lubricating oil pressure is low. The following is a detailed introduction.

1. The machine head pressure is unstable

Reason: The main motor speed is uneven. Or the feeding motor speed is uneven and the feeding amount fluctuates.

Solution: Check the main motor control system and bearings. Check the feeding system motor and control system.

2. The main motor cannot start

Cause: The driving procedure is wrong. There is a problem with the main motor thread, and whether the fuse is burned.

Treatment method: Check the program and drive again in the correct driving order. Check the main motor circuit. Check whether the lubricating oil pump is started and check the status of the interlock device related to the main motor. The inverter's induction power has not been discharged completely. Turn off the main power supply and wait for 5 minutes before starting it again. Check whether the emergency button is reset.

3. The host current is unstable

Causes: Uneven feeding, damaged main motor bearings or poor lubrication, failure of a certain section of heater and no heating, incorrect screw adjustment pad, or incorrect phase, or component interference.

Solution: Check the feeder and troubleshoot. Inspect the main motor and replace the bearings if necessary. Check whether each heater is working properly and replace the heater if necessary. Check the adjustment pad and pull out the screw to check if there is any interference with the screw.

4. Lubricating oil pressure is low

Cause: The pressure setting value of the pressure regulating valve of the lubricating oil system is too low. The oil pump is faulty or the oil suction pipe is blocked.

Treatment method: Check and adjust the pressure regulating valve of the lubricating oil system. Check the oil pump and oil suction pipe.

The above is an introduction to the common faults of twin-screw extruders. Relevant operators can refer to the above content for regular inspections when using twin-screw extruders. If you encounter the above problems, you can refer to the solutions. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. helped.
